Happy Anniversary to Us!
The first year of a new relationship is typically filled with joy, surprises, challenges and growth. Our first year was no exception! HELP has been able to work with colleges and universities of all different sizes, locations and circumstances to create strategies for complying with federal and NC-SARA licensure disclosure requirements, while providing stellar student support. We appreciate all of our clients, the institutions that connected with us to learn more about our services, and so many members of the higher education compliance community who have graciously given of their time and ideas.
HELP utilizes our more than 25 years of combined experience working with professional licensure-related programs across various fields, including counseling, psychology, social work, nursing, P-12 education, accounting, and others, to deliver outstanding specialized services to colleges and universities. With our deep expertise and experience related to professional and occupational licensure, HELP knows how to navigate this complex and ever-changing landscape.
Research and Analysis
Our services include research and compilation of educational requirements for licensure in all U.S. states and territories for a broad range of licenses. To do this we:
Locate, review and analyze state statutes, regulations, rules, and policies
Communicate with state boards and agencies to clarify or confirm requirements
Assess information on board/agency websites and license application materials
We provide the colleges and universities we work with information on all aspects of the educational requirements for licensure, including:
degree type
specialized accreditation
total credits
specific courses
supervised clinical experiences
exams
any additional educational requirements (such as state-specific trainings)
SNEAK PEEK: HELP is developing a database of educational requirements for licensure for all U.S. state and territories for a broad range of license types. Stay tuned for more information and subscription rates later this year.
In addition to state research, HELP works with colleges and universities to complete detailed curriculum comparisons that line up a program’s courses with the state-required courses/content for a particular license.
Consultation and Recommendations
HELP provides interpretation and recommendations about complying with licensure disclosure requirements under federal regulations and NC-SARA policy for particular programs. Recommendations include creating templates for public or individual direct disclosure language, sample student location policy and revision process, and best practices for licensure research and maintenance. Because no two colleges or universities are the same, it is critical to develop a compliance plan and process unique to each institution.
Webinars and Workshops
HELP offers a variety of presentations for higher education compliance professionals, college and university leadership, program directors/faculty chairs, and other audiences. Some examples of these include:
Licensure Disclosures for University Leaders. A comprehensive overview of Federal and NC-SARA disclosure requirements, steps institutions must take to comply, plus resources available to institutions to engage in the work necessary to create disclosures.
Licensure Research “How to” Workshop. A session to walk through examples of how to conduct licensure research for different license types. Will include templates and best practices.
Curriculum Comparison “How to” Workshop. A session to walk through examples of how to complete detailed curriculum comparison, which is required to understand if some programs meet educational requirements, for different license types. Will include templates and best practices.
State of Licensure Compliance. Presentation of HELP’s informal survey results of institution’s compliance with Federal and NC-SARA policy disclosure requirements.
As we start our second year, we are looking forward to helping more institutions understand licensure, achieve compliance, and provide stellar support for their students. We still have limited capacity for new clients in 2022. If your college or university needs direction, support or even a second-opinion on licensure disclosures, contact us today!
